Bollywood directors and actors are really fond of Hollywood movies and actors and we are already known of it. In fact Bollywood has also started a trend where Hollywood remakes are considered more than our original content. But now the industry has reached a level where they are inspired of Hollywood posters more.
With the recent poster released of Kabir Khan’s Phantom starring Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif, we got our hands on a similar Hollywood game poster ‘Homefront’. Looks like the Phantom poster was inspired from this cover picture of a first-person video game Homefront, that has a similar cover where the man is blindfolded with bruised and battered look.
Homefront is a first-person shooter video game developed by Kaos Studios and published by THQ. The game tells the story of a resistance movement fighting against a near-future foreign military occupation of the Western United States.
Since yesterday, Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif’s first intense look from their upcoming film Phantom had became the talk of the town. The due are seen sporting blindfolded in tri-colour and with backdrop landscape of Mumbai’s iconic Taj Mahal Hotel is seen burning. The poster also has a tagline that reads – “A Story You Wish Were True”.
Well, Kabir Khan was too engrossed with the shooting of Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan and it seems this why Phantom has this outcome.
Talking about Phantom, The film is based on the series of 12 coordinated shooting and bombing attacks in Mumbai which took place on 26/11 which continued for the next four days and was led by Ten members of the Lashkar-e-Taiba. Ajmal Kasab one of the 10 terrorists captured alive was hanged on November 21, 2012. But many of the masterminds got away. The screenplay of the film has been written in co-ordination with author Hussain Zaidi, and is an adaptation of his book ‘Mumbai Avengers’.
The shooting and the making of Phantom was done earlier that Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan, but due to some reasons the film was delayed. Now that the director has dropped the first look of the film on Thursday evening, the first official trailer of the film will be releasing on July 25.
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and UTV, the movie is slated to release on August 28th this year and we are eagerly waiting to see what the trailer has to shed more on after this impressive first look.
