After a very powerful and crafted trailer, the makers of Phantom released a new song from the film. Unlike the film’s trailer, the song ‘Afghan Jalebi’, which is crooned by Syed Asrar Shah and composed by Pritam, failed to impress us. Though the song’s beat are catchy, however the lyrics fail to find a place in our memory.
But there’s one element in the song that grabbed our major attention and made ‘Afghan Jalebi’ bearable and little funky. The one who saved ‘Afghan Jalebi’ is none other than the beautiful leading lady of Phantom, Katrina Kaif! Dressed in black with her hair running wild and smocking eyes, Katrina Kaif looks ravishingly hot in the new song from Phantom. Even though the song is a peppy one with average appeal, we see Katrina turning heads with her strong persona in the song and grabbing eyeballs without even shaking a leg.

Phantom’s director Kabir Khan took to his official Twitter account to share the song with his fans. All and all, we liked the song’s feel, right from the catchy beats to the singer’s unique voice, however it’s the song’s lyrics that failed to turn this song into a happening one. In Phantom, Saif Ali Khan plays the role of Daniyal, the man out on a mission to seek justice for the attacks that took place in Mumbai on 26/11. Only recently, the makers of Phantom released film’s trailer, which succeeded in impressing us.
The film is an adaptation of Hussain Zaidi’s recently released book ‘Mumbai Avengers’. Phantom is about post-26/11 attacks in Mumbai and global terrorism. In the trailer, Saif looks his best and fits perfectly well in the character, however it’s Katrina Kaif that kind of looks out of the place in the trailer. Looking at Katrina in the trailer, we can’t help but think of her film Ek Tha Tiger and Bang Bang. Just like in Bang Bang, Katrina once again gets caught up in the whole situation in Phantom.
We are more than excited to catch the film in theatres on August 28, 2015.
