MUMBAI: Sunday afternoon saw Bollywood out in near full attendance at ‘Bunty Aur Babli’ director Shaad Ali’s ‘shaadi’.
Yes folks, the ‘Jhoom Baraabar Jhoom’ man, Shaad Ali has finally tied the knot to his long-term girlfriend; and his Bollywood buddies turned up to ensure this was a wedding reception of the season.
The Bachchan family, who is close to Shaad, was among the first to reach the venue. Both Amitabh and Abhishek have starred in Shaad’s critically dismissed but fun film ‘Jhoom Baraabar Jhoom’.
Patriarch Amitabh Bachchan in a crisp white kurta pyjama, his wife Jaya in a kanjeevaram, son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan turned up to mark this very special occasion.
Fireworks were expected, when Abhishek Bachchan came face-to-face with his nemesis: wife Aishwarya’s ex-flame Vivek Oberoi at the party! But contrary to expectations, the two were very cordial to one another. Viveik seemed to match Ash in a red kurta. He was accompanied by his lovely wife Priyanka.
Kirron Kher donned her usual nine yards and came to wish the happy couple. ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ boy Ranveer Singh came sans his rumoured girlfriend Deepika Padukone, but he didn’t let her absence dampen his party spirit. Seen in an interesting maroon kurta and dhoti pants, Ranveer rocked his bearded, mustachioed ‘Ram Leela’ look.
Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi brought flowers to wish Shaad and his bride. We also caught up with Bollywood hunk Arunoday Singh, looking sharp in a casual linen suit and shades. The hottie was last seen in ‘Jism 2’, opposite Indo-Canadian porn star Sunny Leone.
