In a recent unfortunate incident that has shocked the entire Hindi film industry, Sooraj Barjatya’s cousin Rajjat passed away.
Rajjat Barjatya, who was the MD and CEO of Rajshri productions passed away today at 8 in the evening.
Rajjat was suffering from cancer and lost his battle to the disease at the Jaslok hospital where he was admitted for his treatment.
A source close to the Barjatya family said, “Rajjat was very ill since the past three months. The family also tried to get a bone marrow transplant done, but things didn’t fall into place.”
The production house, Rajshri Productions, was founded by Sooraj and Rajjat’s grandfather Tarachand Barjatya. The production house has given the industry super hit blockbusters and is very reputed and well known for making family oriented films.
Rajjat’s death has come as a shock for many B-town members.
A number of celebrities came forwards to mourn his death.
Shirish Kunder, editor and producer, tweeted,
Nothing shakes you up more than when someone your age dies. RIP Rajjat Barjatya. A dear friend, since I edited a film for him 13 years back.
