2015’s highly anticipated movie Tamasha has now been shifted to 2016. Earlier, the film was scheduled to release on Christmas this year, but due to date clashes with a lot of major movies, director Imtiaz Ali has decided to postpone the release of Tamasha.
Ranbir Kapoor’s alleged girlfriend Katrina Kaif’s Fitoor and Deepika starrer Tamasha were earlier going to release on the same date. But the reason of Tamasha’s postpone is not Katrina Kaif, but King Khan Shah Rukh himself. Reportedly, Shah Rukh Khan’s next film with Rohit Shetty is also set to release in December along with the star-studded film of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Bajirao Mastani.
According to the team of Tamasha, in order to avoid clash with two big movie releases, the date had to be postponed. Well obviously, who wants to clash with a Shah Rukh Khan starred film anyway? However that is not the only reason. Apparently Ranbir Kapoor himself wanted Tamasha to be postponed.
Chocolate boy of Bollywood has 3 major movie releases this year. Jacqueline starrer Roy releases on February 13, Anushka Sharma starrer Bombay Velvet on May 15 and girlfriend Katrina Kaif starrer Jagga Jasoos on November 27. So the actor himself wanted a gap between the releases of his movies.
According to director Imtiaz Ali, Tamasha is a very challenging film in terms of storytelling and performances. Ranbir Kapoor himself revealed that his wish of learning poetry was fulfilled through this film. “Tamasha has been challenging. We got new things that we need to express through performances, the film and poetry,” stated Imtiaz Ali.
The new release date of Tamasha is yet to be revealed. However, the decision taken was highly practical and necessary.
