Nikhil Advani’s debut directorial Kal Ho Na Ho was hugely appreciated and is considered a cult by many. If we keep aside the story, treatment, songs and Shah Rukh Khan, one other factor that worked in favour of this film was Saif Ali Khan.
Recently resurrected with Dil Chahta Hai, Saif was the toast of the season and his affable character Rohit, was lapped up by the audience. It was only obvious to assume that Nikhil would repeat the actor in his next, but it seems the wait got too long.
We hear the director has signed Saif for his upcoming film which will be produced by Bhushan Kumar. Rest of the cast is yet to be finalised. We also hear that Saif will be playing the role of a lawyer in the film who is tad immoral. Now, hasn’t Saif proved before that there is a certain charm attached to be evil with the portrayal Langda Tyagi in Omkara?
From the sound of it, the film will definitely be interesting because when Saif Ali Khan turns mean, he becomes all the more alluring.
Nikhil will start shooting the film after he wraps up the remake of Hero, which stars Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty.
