MUMBAI: It was a night to remember, for the veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai. His birthday party was graced by the who’s who of Bollywood, who came in to celebrate his big day.
Among the top shots, we caught sight of the two Big Khans: Salman and Aamir, who came along to wish their favourite director. Aamir was seen sporting a black hat a-la Subhash Ghai, to honour the director’s flamboyant style. In contrast, Ghai’s favourite actor Salman (who’s stuck by him loyally through thick and thin) wore a simple ‘Being’ tee, and was in his element at the birthday party. The three men bonded big time, reminiscing about the times gone by.
Though Salman and Aamir were both there, another Khan conspicuous by his absence was Shah Rukh Khan; who’s starred in Ghai’s cult classic ‘Pardes’. Perhaps he didn’t want to come face to face with his arch nemesis, Salman at the party.
Other major Bollywood celebrities at this birthday bash were Vidya Balan, the Roshans (minus Hrithik, who was busy shooting), Sajid Nadiadwala, Mithun Chakravarty, Shatrugan Sinha, and a host of other B’town personalities. Director duo Abbas-Mustan dropped in, even though they had the premiere of their own film ‘Race 2’ happening on the same day.
Rishi Kapoor too put in an appearance at this star-studded birthday bash, and was seen encouraging Ghai to blow out all the candles while he cut into his sumptuous looking chocolate cake. All in all, it was a beautifully orchestrated birthday bash, where Ghai could well and truly let his hair down and revel in the glorious times of the past, with his closest allies from the film industry.
