Salman Khan Blackbuck Poaching Case: Rajasthan Court To Inspect Rifle Allegedly Used By Actor!

Salman-Khan-Hiral-[tps_footer]Alongside the ongoing 2002 hit and run case, the Rajasthan court on Wednesday said that it wants to check the airgun and rifle allegedly used by Bollywood actor Salman Khan in killing of 2 Chinkaras (Indian Gazelle).

Justice Nirmal Jeet Kaur expressed to have the weapons in the court but the day for the production of these articles has not yet been decided yet. The court was hearing the petition moved by Salman Khan challenging the sentence of 1 year by a lower court in one of the 3 poaching cases against him.

Salman Khan’s counsel, H M Saraswat told reporters that the airgun and rifle used by Salman Khan, which had been seized by the investigating agencies, were not capable of killing an animal.

Also, besides these guns, other articles like the knife, pallets of the guns and a camera, which was allegedly found, might be also produced in the court. The arguments in the petition are currently going on in the High Court.

The defence has argued for 7 days and now the court has asked the defence to wrap up their arguments during the next hearing, which is scheduled on December 7.

Salman Khan had been sentenced to 1-year by the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate on February 17, 2006 convicting him for poaching of 2 Chinkaras in Bhawad near Jodhpur on 26-27 September, 1998.

Fresh charges in the poaching case were framed against him in March 2012. Then, in November 2013, the Rajasthan High Court ordered that Salman Khan‘s poaching conviction be suspended for visa purposes. The actor has been accused of hunting and killing the endangered deer while shooting his film Hum Saath Saath Hain in Rajasthan in 1998. His co-stars,Saif Ali KhanTabuSonali Bendre and Neelam, have been charged with inciting the actor to hunt.
