The BMC sent a notice regarding the charges to be paid for the demolition of the ramp. Reportedly the actor has paid Rs 1,93,784 as fees for removal of encroachment near his bungalow. BMC confirmed that they received the cheque by the actor.

Under MMC Act, 489(1) which states that expenses of demolition of the structure should be paid by concerned person since it is illegal.

The issue came up when BJP MP Poonam Mahajan wrote to municipal commissioner Sitaram Kunte on January 29 and asked him to get the illegal ramp demolished. Mahajan wrote the letter after the residents met her and showed her documents that proved that the area where the ramp was built comes under government and is a part of the road, and should be handed over to the public for use.

Shah Rukh Khan was given a week time to remove the illegal ramp, Since he didn’t do so, civic officials turned up to demolish the ramp, which was also used by him to park his vanity van.
