After a historic 1000-week run, Bollywood’s most loved film Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge has made its final curtain call at the iconic Maratha Mandir. For the very last time it was last played today morning after a record 1009 weeks continuous screening. Maratha Mandir completed 1009 weeks of screening DDLJ, for almost 20 years since its release in October 1995.
Few weeks ago the film celebrated its completion of 1000 weeks with Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. After the completion of 1000 Weeks the theatre had asked for the extension of screening as well as changes in the timing for screening the movie. YRF appreciated and the theatre continued to do so. The theatre management was happy to continue the film for as long as it continued to draw in the audiences
It’s said that good things come to an end and it’s a final goodbye for Dilwale Dulhania Le jyenge from the Maratha Mandir.
Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ has beaten the record previously held by 1975 blockbuster ‘Sholay’ as the longest running film in the history of Indian cinema.
