The star-studded cast of Udta Punjab might have to wait a while to get their remuneration. According to latest reports, the production house co-producing the film has backed out of the project leaving Anurag Kashyap’s Phantom Films as the sole producer.
However, Phantom Films have decided to continue as planned, and the film is set to go on rolls from March 1. Apparently all the actors of the film have agreed to the condition that will get their remuneration only when a film studio comes on board. So it looks like Alia Bhatt, Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan will have to wait to be paid for their roles.
An insider revealed, “It will start rolling in Punjab from March 1. The actors have been told that they will get their remuneration only when a film studio comes on board. They have agreed to this condition, as they loved the script. As of now, Phantom will be funding the film.”
