Haider and Bang Bang! kickstarted the festival film weekends with a bang. With a five day long weekend, the films have managed to gain.
How much and who toppled whom is a discussion we will get into later but what we have observed is the kind critical response the two films have earned.
There seems to be a clear division between the audiences as to who liked the films for what reasons.
Haider completes Vishal Bharadwaj’s Shakespearean trilogy after Maqbool and Omkara. With an unbelievable Shahid Kapoor in the film and actors like Tabu and Kay Kay Menon, the film only got bigger.

When we spoke to the general audience, they just loved innocence and the twists and turns in the film. Shahid Kapoor’s look seemed to have found many takers and also his performance.
But it seems it is Vishal Bharadwaj’s acute precision as a director that has warmed hearts.
On the other hand, Bang Bang! is definitely getting the traction due to its presentation and Hrithik Roshan. Both are hot, sexy and absolutely mind boggling.
Girls are definitely going gaga over Hrithik’s looks and mannerisms. If not for Hrithik, the boys are definitely going crazy about the stunts.
Thus the films have managed to get the desired audience reaction but how much will that help its income, only time will say.
