Ace lensman Atul Kasbekar has turned film producer with this movie and according to reports this is a dream project for him. It is also reported that Sonam as well as a few other people associated with the project have cut their compensation or in some cases offered professional services free of cost to ensure that Kasbekar didn’t have to shelf the project.
Recently in an interview, the actress revealed that she was in a severe accident once when she was about 15 years old. According to her, the only thing that saved the lives of Sonam and her friend Kunal Ranwal‘s life was her intuition. When the car they were in suddenly stopped, Sonam had a very bad feeling and she asked the friend to get off the car immediately. However, before Kunal could get off, his side of the car had caught fire and his door jammed. Instead of running for her own life, Sonam went back for Kunal and after a lot of struggle, managed to get him out safely, It was only seconds before the car blew up.

One can only imagine what must have gone through the heads of the two when they realized that they were almost surely dead if not for the ‘Aisha’ star’s quick thinking.
‘Neerja’ is set to hit theatres on 19th February 2016.
