Sidharth Malhotra will be starring in Karan Johar’s next venture. Directed by Shakun Batra, Sidharth will be playing the lead role in the movie. The actor has signed the film as his other project Bhavesh Joshi got scrapped and will be seen sharing screen space with another lead actor.
As the film’s plot has two lead characters, talks of Arjun Kapoor or Fawad Khan starring along with Sidharth Malhotra have been revealed. The plot of the film is about two brothers, one of who is homosexual and reveals the same to his brother during a family outing on weekend.
According to sources, “Sidharth’s dates are available from April onwards because Bhavesh Joshi is now shelved. Arjun Kapoor and Fawad Khan are front-runners to play the parallel lead. Between the two, the part might go to the former, if negotiations work out. Female leads are being worked out. Alia’s name is doing the rounds.”
“Sid has a fantastic role in this film and it will give him an opportunity to showcase his versatility. The story takes place over a weekend where the family goes for an outing and during the fun and games, one of the two brothers reveals his sexuality,” they added.
Sidharth Malhotra is currently shooting for Karan Johar’s Brothers starring Akshay Kumar. The film is an official remake of the 2011 Hollywood film Warrior and is set to come out on August 14, 2015.
