MUMBAI: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan seems to be quite a fan of sports. If recent buzz is to be believed, the 47-year-old actor is gearing up to add a football team to his collection of sports teams!

SRK has reportedly expressed a desire to own the Kolkata franchise of the newly formed football league- the IMG-Reliance league.

Quite the savvy businessman, SRK already owns a very successful cricket team, the Kolkata Knight Riders, which is part of the glittering India Premier League (IPL). Now, he may also be the proud owner of a football team.

Shah Rukh Khan is quite the sportsman in his personal life as well, and has reportedly excelled in football and hockey while in school and college. So his purchase of sports teams seems like a natural progression.

SRK is also quite taken by Kolkata, as he wants to bid for the Kolkata franchise in the new league.

“Earlier I was planning to buy stakes in Dempo and now with the new franchise-based league coming up, I will have a look at it. I will love to own a franchise. I will love to have the Kolkata football club,” said Shah Rukh Khan.

Along with Kolkata, the other teams in the fray include Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai, Kochi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Goa and Guwahati. The IMG Reliance League is scheduled to kick-start next year in January, and carry on until 30 March.
