MUMBAI: Anything that Ekta Kapoor touches her hands upon has to truly be a royal affair. Be it her television soaps or her films. The latest ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara’, too promises to be a rich affair.

Leaving no stone unturned promoting ‘OUATIMD’, Ekta Kapoor threw an Iftar bash for all the biggies of Bollywood. ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai’ is set against a muslim mileau and with Eid around, it was the perfect way to reign in a celebration.

The Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Imran Khan starrer is a good week away from release (15 August), but Ekta Kapoor wants to keep the festivities continuing.

There were reports that promotions have been quite low-key as compared to ‘Chennai Express’. Akshay Kumar had also said that while ‘Chennai Express’ posters are everywhere, ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara’ isn’t far behind. A good ten days is fantastic for promotions.

But with the royal party thrown by Ekta Kapoor and Balaji Motion Pictures, they surely look that they are competing hard and strong!

Especially when the who’s who of the industry were present at the party. The guest list was enormous and apart from the star cast, a plethora of celebrities graced the royal dinner. While Imran Khan was conspicuous by his absence, Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha and ofcourse Ekta Kapoor played the perfect hosts for the evening.

Ranveer Singh, Emraan Hashmi, Abhishek Bachchan, Genelia D’Souza, Chitrangada Singh, Huma Qureshi, Kajol, Arshad Warsi, Maria Goretti, Divya Dutta, Sonam Kapoor, Tusshar, Urmila Matondkar, Arbaaz Khan and wife Malaika Arora Khan, Rakesh Roshan, David Dhawan, Shatrughan Sinha, Rishi Kapoor were amongst the many other guests present.

The event also saw television stars bonding with the big B-town guys of Bollywood. Wonder if there is a new script in the making.

With a hoard of celebrities entering the venue late till the night, and a huge mix of Bollywood and television celebs arriving, it surely seemed that Ekta Kapoor and the team of ‘OUATIMD’ were in to host the Presidential dinner.

‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara’ directed by Milan Luthria, produced by Ekta Kapoor releases on Independence Day, 15 August.
