[tps_footer]Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali who is gearing up for the release of the film ‘Bajirao Mastani’ is already thinking about his next project. The highly creative filmmaker who is a lover of details and perfection is now in news for something else than his upcoming film ‘Bajirao Mastani’. The director is planning a remake to Sanjay Dutt starrer film ‘Khalnayak’. It is almost confirmed that Bhansali has made up his mind to go ahead with the project and will soon also buy the rights of the film.
Showman of the tinsel town Subhash Ghai who is also the director and the producer of the film ‘Khalnayak’ commented on the same saying, “There was a talk for sure when he (Sanjay Leela Bhansali) had come for lunch at my home and he wanted the rights of Khalnayak.”
The Yaadein director Subhash Ghai who has himself given innumerable hit to the masses further delved into the details of the remake saying, “I have asked for around Rs 8 to 9 crore. I think he is too tied up with his current film production (Bajirao Mastani).”
The 1993 action thriller ‘Khalnayak’ was a blockbuster hit starring Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit Nene in lead roles along with actor Jackie Shroff. Well, who can forget the dance number Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai and Madhuri’s mesmerizing moves.
It was much in the air lately that filmmaker Karan Johar also wanted to remake the action film ‘Khalnayak’. Subhash Ghai replied on the same clarifying, “No, it is not true. But other producers, yes. I can’t reveal names.”
Subhash Ghai also opined that ‘Khalnayak’ remake has become the scoop of the industry lately. The amazing director exclaimed, “Suddenly this (Khalnayak) has become the hottest product being talked about in market today. And we are getting offers from few more producers.”
Well, it will be all the more wonderful to see Sanjay Leela Bhansali behind the lenses for the remake of ‘Khalnayak’.
