It’s set. Sonakshi Sinha–Arjun Kapoor starrer Tevar has locked a December release date.
The film, which is a remake of Telugu super hit Okkadu, will hit screens on December 05, 2014 Directed by newcomer Amit Sharma, Tevar is produced by Arjun Kapoor’s uncle Sanjay Kapoor.
Said Sanjay Kapoor, “We are very excited to announce that Tevar will release December 05, 2014 this year. Things are going on schedule and we are very happy with the progress on the film.”
Sonakshi Sinha and Arjun Kapoor have been working hard, trying to rap the shooting for the film. However during their last schedule the shooting suddenly suffered a totally unexpected break with the death of a person. Arjun and Sonakshi along with the crew were shooting for the film at a rented bungalow in Agra, however the shooting came to a halt when the owner of the bungalow suddenly passed away. With the sad news coming, the team along with Arjun and Sonakshi were asked to leave the bungalow.
“The bungalow was rented by the owner’s son but the team had to vacate the place when the gentleman passed away. The team then searched for a different location which they thankfully got the next day itself,” informed a source.
Also there were rumours that Raj Babbar has opted to campaign for his candidature in Ghaziabad instead of shooting for Tevar, something that did not go down well with the actor. Raj Babbar expressed genuine surprise at these reports and said, “Headlines like Raj Babbar Chooses Roles Over Poles sacrifice basic decency to grab attention. These reports give out a terribly wrong and unfair signal. I am not a first-time electorate. I’ve been balancing out my film and political careers for twenty years. Has any producer ever complained?”
However Raj Babbar had made his stand very clear that he would accommodate the shooting after April 10, 2014. “It isn’t a small schedule. It requires about fifteen to sixteen days. I very clearly told them of my plans. I am not running away anywhere.” stated a visibly irritated Raj Babbar.
Tevar stars Arjun Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha and Manoj Bajpayee in the lead roles, while Arjun will play a college student and a Kabaddi champion.
Tevar started its shooting from last January in Rajasthan and will also travel around Mumbai, Maheshwar and Mathura, apart from Agra. The last schedule for Tevar begins on May 5, 2014 and the actors are all set to go.
Here’s wishing the entire team on Tevar all the best.
