When Shweta Basu Prasad was arrested in an alleged prostitution racket in Hyderabad, the nation sympathized with her. Her statements on how she needed to fend for her family warmed many hearts and many Bollywood and television stars supported her. After two months of stay in a rescue home, she is back at her home in Mumbai but now has a different story to narrate.

According to many tabloids, Shweta had admitted that she got into prostitution because all doors were closed on her. She wasn’t getting much work anywhere and needed money to sustain. Hence, she was forced to choose this path. But Shweta negated all that claims. She even called these statements lies. She feels these false statements have tarnished her image.

Shweta now says that when she was arrested, she wasn’t been allowed to meet her parents then how did she manage to give press statements. She recently told a daily that it is true that she was in the same hotel in Hyderabad where the raid took place but that doesn’t mean she was there for commercial sex. She was there to attend an award ceremony. It was just an unfortunate incident.

We wonder who’s telling the truth here.
