MUMBAI: Bollywood actress Vidya Balan, who recently tied the knot with Siddharth Roy Kapur (CEO of UTV Motion Pictures), is considering taking on a double-barreled name. Well, in this case a triple-barreled one.
It has been about four months since Vidya and Siddharth took their wedding vows in both traditional Tamil and Punjabi ceremonies. Immediately after the marriage, Vidya had returned to the sets to complete the shooting of her films.
Recently at a party, one of Vidya’s team members was having a conversation of how the actress was playing around with the idea of changing her screen name to Vidya Balan Roy Kapur. A source overheard this conversation and said, “The other guests got excited and started inquiring. The team member continued talking without realizing others were listening in as well.”
The source added, “In fact, all of them told the team member to congratulate Vidya for her decision on their behalf.”
It has been a trend in Bollywood to keep the maiden surname and to add the marital surname at the end. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Malaika Arora Khan, and many others have followed this trend.
However, nothing has been finalized as yet. The talented actress remained unavailable to confirm the news. Vidya is currently very busy shooting, she has almost completed ‘Ghanchakkar’ opposite Emraan Hashmi and is now shooting for ‘Marriage Ke Side Effects’ with Farhan Akhtar.
