[tps_footer]Vidyut Jamwal and Kangna Ranaut have been christened India’s Hottest Vegetarian Celebrity of 2013 in a new poll conducted by animal rights organization PETA India beating last year’s toppers Amitabh Bachchan and Vidya Balan.
“I believe that being vegetarian is the way because I have felt the changes. I have seen myself evolve as a human being, mentally as well as physically. I believe that everybody should be vegetarian because it has a lot of benefits. Being a vegetarian keeps you agile, keeps you on your toes and doesn’t make you feel lazy.” Vidyut stated after being declared the winner.
On the other hand, it was Kangna Ranaut who topped the list in the female category. She feels that being vegetarian is the way to be. “We must not eat other animals. Besides, vegetarian organic food is far more healthy minus all the toxins.” she said.
The Commando star recently appeared in a PETA ad promoting the health benefits of vegetarian foods while the actress has now gone vegetarian. The nominees were posted on PETA’s official website and people visiting the site voted for their favorite vegetarian celebs. Last year, Amitabh Bachchan and Vidya Balan won the titles.
Names like Jacqueline Fernandez, Amitabh Bachchan, R. Madhavan, Kareena Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor and Vidya Balan put up a real fight for the title too in the online poll on PETAIndia.com. People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), selected the winners based on several factors, including vote count. Though Jacqueline and Shahid were leading till last week, Jamwal and Ranaut won with a big margin.
“Bollywood stars are truly shining for animals by choosing to go meat-free and Vidyut’s six-pack abs and the hot actresses beauty are proof that a great way to get a killer body and looks, is by not eating animals,” Sachin Bangera, PETA India manager (Media and Celebrity Projects), said in a statement.
Bhuvaneshwari Gupta, nutrition adviser, PETA India says, “Vidyut’s physique is certainly due to his use of veggies, and the actresses sexy figure of her kind stand against eating animals was her winning point. Of course, all the stars on the list are winners since they are all vegetarian.”
