[tps_footer]On Thursday, when Sanjay Dutt was released from the Yerwada Jail in Pune after 23 years, it marked to end of a traumatic period for the actor & start of a new beginning. The 56-year-old ‘Munnabhai’ was released after having served his five-year sentence for possessing illegal arms in the March 12th, 1993, Mumbai serial bomb blasts case.
As expected, the actor’s friends, family and fans were waiting with bated breath to welcome the ‘Khalnayak’. Not only did a popular eatery offer their signature dish ‘Chicken Sanju Baba’ for free, but his entire locality was decked for his homecoming.

However, for 38-year-old Sandeep Bacche, it was a very busy yet happy day. On the day Sanjay Dutt was released, Bacche, ferried other fans from Bandra station to the actor’s residence at Pali Hill house, Imperial Heights. As one of Dutt’s biggest fans, Bacche wears his love for the actor at all times with a tattoo of Sanju Baba on his arm. The resident of Khar Danda has been an admirer ever since the actor made his debut in 1981 with Rocky, when he was barely four. Flowers, banners and decorations were put on Bacche’s rickshaw to celebrate Dutt’s freedom.

Bacche, who once was given money for his mother’s treatment by Sanju Baba, had stopped wearing shoes for as long as Dutt was incarcerated. However, his hero not only returned on Thursday, but also made the time to meet with his most loyal and probably eccentric fan. We can only imagine what a feeling that must have been for Bacche![/tps_footer]
