MUMBAI: Yash Chopra’s untitled next – a romantic drama – is going to see Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif come together for the first time. While Katrina was initially intimidated by him, Shah Rukh has said that working with her and with Anushka Sharma has been a “learning experience”.
“It has been a great pleasure, and an honour to work with both, Anushka and Katrina. And I call it a learning experience because when you work with young actors, they come in with their own new lingo and have completely different ways of doing things or acting out scenes,” he says. Anushka and Shah Rukh have previously been paired in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008).
Though initially Katrina felt intimidated, she eventually found him to be dedicated and helpful. “You constantly see that person on TV, in media, movies and everywhere. So for me a little sense of intimidation was there when you are actually in front of him, which I later found funny. I have worked with SRK this year, after being in the industry for nine years,” she says.
She elaborates that Shah Rukh has worked with Yash Chopra before so he had a better knowledge of Yash Chopra’s working style. “Shah Rukh, as an actor, is not thinking about himself or not thinking about how many years he is in the industry. He is extremely helpful. He has also worked with Yashji earlier, so he knows his style of working… he knows what Yashji is expecting from me… what he is trying to say to me,” she explains.
The shoot for the movie, a possible love triangle, is almost over. “We had a great time working on the film. We have already wrapped up most of the shooting. Only seven-eight days of filming are left, apart from a few sequences from a song,” he says, adding, “Everything’s worked out well, and I hope the audience likes it.”
