Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s comeback film ‘Jazbaa‘ has completed its first weekend at the box office with a moderate run. The film collected a low business of Rs. 14.35 crores net approx (143.5 million) on its first weekend. ‘Jazbaa’ experienced a slow start on Friday, but the film picked up the pace on Saturday. However, due to the cricket match on Sunday, the film’s business was affected quite a lot.
On its first day, ‘Jazbaa‘ collected Rs. 3.85 crores net approx (38.5 million), whereas on Saturday the business rose up to Rs. 5 crores net approx (50 million). The film showed improvement on Sunday, but not as expected. Aishwarya’s comeback film collected Rs. 5.50 crores (55 million) on Sunday, making it a total of Rs. 14.35 crores net approx (143.5 million).

The film has performed the best in Mumbai where almost half of the revenue came from. ‘Jazbaa‘ collected around 5.25 crores net approx from Mumbai, and around 3 crores from Delhi/UP. The film’s performance has been quite similar to earlier women centric films like ‘NH10’ and ‘Mardaani’. Ash’s film will have to perform well on Monday without having much drop, in order to pull through the next week.
‘Jazbaa’ being Aishwarya Rai’s comeback after a long time has raised the audience’s anticipation. With a star studded cast and experienced direction of Sanjay Gupta, the film has created a lot of buzz. Irrfan Khan’s image of doing films with strong scripts will help attract the audience more. The film tells the story of a strong independent lawyer played by Aishwarya, and the hardships faced by her to reunite with her daughter.
