The patriotic film Airlift starring Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur has already been declared a successful film. The movie which is based on the Gulf War of the 1990’s showcases the massive rescue operation carried out by India. ‘Airlift’ has gained good collections till now.
‘Airlift’ released with the adult comedy film ‘Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3′. The two films which are extremely different in their genres have a vast difference in their collections. ‘Airlift’ is undoubtedly leading in its earnings due to strong word of mouth publicity and positive critic reviews.
The film ‘Airlift’ was already much anticipated by the masses for its intriguing and curiosity filled promo and trailer. A few songs from the movie also were a treat to the ears which further proved beneficial for the film in some way.
Airlift had excellent growth of 60% on its second Saturday. There were some centres which even doubled the collections of Friday.
On Friday the film collected Rs 3.75 crore net approx (37 million net approx) and on Saturday the film collected Rs 5.95 crore net approx (Rs 59 million net approx)
The nine day total for the film is 89 crore net approx. (Rs 890 million)
Airlift has dominated over Sunny Leone’s Mastizaade, as this film released just 2 days back, the film has collected Rs 6.70 crore net approx. (Rs 67 million) (2 days collection). And Saala Khadoos opened to an even lower business making Rs 3 crore net approx (30 million) (2 days collection).
Now whether the collections for the Akshay Kumar starrer show a positive pick up in the weekend or no is yet to be seen.
