Bobby Jasoos was still bearable, but Lekar Hum Deewana Dil was a disaster, both in terms of it’s Box Office reports and content.
Bobby Jasoos had a very positive pre-release buzz, but then the film had too many loop holes when it came to the script. Bobby Jasoos has managed to collect approximately Rs 105 million (Rs 10.5 crore) nett at the Indian Box Office in it’s first week, and looks like it would not be able to recover it’s cost.
Bobby Jasoos started slowly and although it picked up on Saturday (July 05, 2014), it was not enough as the starting point was too low. Even during the week the film dropped in collections and one is expecting it to take a further beating thanks to Ek Villain that’s still going strong and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania which the young crowd would sample.
Bobby Jasoos is expected to do little business in week two, and would make a huge dent in the producers pocket. How we wish the makers work in content rather than casting and marketing.
Coming to Lekar Hum Deewana Dil, one does not understand why was this film made. There was no story, no direction and both Armaan Jain and Deeksha Seth have no screen presence. The film was promoted well, but looks like it will not even recover it’s marketing costs, leave along its production cost. Poor Saif Ali Khan; he had to go through this for his family.
Arif Ali should either stop directing and writing or if he still gets a second chance, then he should put a disclaimer before to the film.
Lekar Hum Deewana Dil has proved to be a disaster and has managed to collect approximately Rs 20 million (Rs 2 crore) nett at the Indian Box Office.
However, as expected Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania had a good opening, and it’s all because of the star power of Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan, though the word of mouth for the film is bad.[/tps_footer]
