MUMBAI: Salman Khan starrer Dabangg has broken 3 Idiots’ opening weekend collections record of Rs 380 million with a Rs 100 million (Rs 10 crore) margin.
The movie has done net business of approximately Rs 480 million (Rs 48 crore) over the first weekend. As was reported earlier by Businessofcinema.com, on Friday the movie collected Rs 145 million (Rs 14.50 crore), whereas on Saturday the collections stood at Rs 160 million (Rs 16 crore). Sunday saw the movie performing even better with net collections of approximately Rs 175 million (Rs 17.50 crore).
It may be recalled that 3 Idiots’ opening weekend numbers from Friday – Saturday were Rs 122.50 mllion, Rs 116.50 million and Rs 132.50 million.
