Box Office: Deepika Padukone Starrer Piku Grows Stronger By The Weekend

Piku-CoverAmitabh Bachchan, Irrfan Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer film Piku had a good first weekend business at the Box Office. The film saw a very good growth on Saturday, which continued to grow stronger on Sunday.The film picked up good speed at the Box Office after having a slow start on Friday. Director Shoojit Sircar’s film managed to mint around Rs. 24.50 crore net (245 million) at the Box Office on its first weekend. Piku, which received positive reviews from the audiences and critics, earned around Rs. 8.50 crore net (85 million) on its second day, Saturday at the Box Office.

The Indian comedy drama film, Piku is doing quite well in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Gurgaon, Kolkata and Bangalore. Not only in India, but the film is doing a great business overseas as well and has topped the 2015’s top five Overseas openers list. Audiences loved Piku’s sweet tender story and also Deepika, Big B and Irrfan Khan’s beautiful performance in the film. Since Piku had a good first weekend business at the Box Office, it is expected that the film will continue to do well on Monday and coming weekdays as well.

Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar’s Piku tells a story of an ideal daughter named Piku, played by Deepika Padukone and her struggling complicated relationship with her father, Amitabh Bachchan. The film also shows us how Irrfan Khan, a cab driver, gets caught up in father-daughter’s disagreements as they set out on a road trip to Kolkata.
