MUMBAI: Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Department’, starring Rana Daggubati, Amitabh Bachchan, and Sanjay Dutt took a very feeble opening on friday, with collections of approximately Rs 25 million ( Rs 2.5 crore) net.

Amongst major films, ‘Department’ has now replaced Venus’ ‘Tezz’, as the lowest opener of 2012. The dull trend continued over the weekend with the three day total figure arriving in the range of Rs 72.5 million (Rs 7.25 crore) net. The bad reviews received by the film, offer little hope of sustenance during the week.
