Box Office: Ek Villain Has A Thumping First Weekend

ek villain-01[tps_footer]They Came, We Saw and They Conquered, well that’s exactly what has happened with Ek Villain that released this Friday (June 27, 2014).

Ek Villain was carrying great pre-release reports, thanks to it’s music and it’s star cast, and post it’s release, the film has had a historic opening weekend at the Box Office.

Released with around two thousand five hundred screens, Ek Villain has emerged as the biggest opener of 2014, in terms of screen average.

Ek Villain has collected approximately Rs 507 million (Rs 50.70 crore) nett at the Indian Box Office in it’s first three days itself.

The national distributor, Anil Thadani, stated, “The film has found universal acceptance. It is one of those rare films that worked as well in a remote single screen as it did in an up-market multiplex. It is a blockbuster and game-changer in the real sense of the words.”

Director Mohit Suri, who is ecstatic post the response of his film stated, “I am delighted that my first film outside my home company has opened to such a path-breaking response. The stupendous figures are testimony to the power of conviction, content and passion.”

With some great songs and a strong word of mouth Ek Villain is poised to have a great run. Directed by Mohit Suri, the film stars Riteish Deshmukh, Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor.
