The Bejoy Nambiar directorial film which has got thumbs up from the critics has been struggling for good number of audiences since day one. The film ‘Wazir’ stars actors Amitabh Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar and Aditi Rao Hydari in lead roles. The film which is tagged as the one with an intriguing story line and plot, opened on a not so good scale.

‘Wazir’ on the first day of its release opened on a 15% opening. The film which was applauded for its mind triggering trailer was surely short of expectations as far as the collections were concerned. ‘Wazir’ is the first movie of the year 2016, but due to lack of promotional activities, the movie fell short of audiences at the screens.
Apart from the trailer, ‘Wazir’ was not able to make a mark on the minds of the audience. Additionally, the songs of the film also could not show much magic on the chartbusters. With an impressive star cast ‘Wazir’ was expected to attract audiences at the screens solely for the performances and the story line.

Opening on a low scale, the first day collection of the film ‘Wazir’ was Rs. 5.40 crore net approx., the second i.e. the Saturday collection of the film was Rs. 7 crore net approx (Rs. 70 Millions). whereas the Sunday collection of the movie was Rs. 7.50 crore net approx(Rs. 75 Millions). and the Monday collection was Rs. 2.50 crore net approx (Rs. 25 Millions). The total collection for the first four days of ‘Wazir’ is Rs. 22.40 crore net approx(Rs. 224 Millions).

The film ‘Wazir’ which is tagged as a niche one, surely witnessed disappointing collections at the box office. The film lost out on the family audience because of its plot and the Tuesday collection of also did not show much improvement. The Tuesday collection for Farhan Akhtar and Amitabh Bachchan’s movie is Rs. 2.10 crore net approx.
The total collection for ‘Wazir’ comes to Rs. 24.50 crore net approx. The serious film is already losing out on its audience.[/tps_footer]
