MUMBAI: While UTV Pictures and Bhandarkar Entertainment’s ‘Heroine’ started off on a decent note on its opening day, it has been unable it maintain the tempo.

Day 4 and Day 5, i.e. Monday and Tuesday figures have seen close to a 55% drop in collections.

Starring Kareena Kapoor in an extremely powerful role and Arjun Rampal, Randeep Hooda among an emsemble cast, ‘Heroine’ opened to very mixed reviews, with most critics giving the flak to Madhur Bhandarkar’s execution.

Kareena’s performance though has been highly appreciated by the majority.

The 3 day weekend figures of the film had totaled to Rs 240 million (Rs 24 crore) net as reported by businessofcinema.com.

While the response post that is poor throughout the country, the sharpest fall is seen in Delhi, UP, Punjab and Central India.

Including weekdays, the 5 day total of the film is now in the range of Rs 320 million (Rs 32 crore) net.

Taking into account the hype that surrounded the film, this figure is dismal.

With the notable decrease in footfall, there is not a very high expectation from week one of ‘Heroine’.
