BOX OFFICE: ‘Himmatwala’ Dips Substantially On Day 4

MUMBAI: Sajid Khan’s ‘Himmatwala’, produced by UTV Motion Pictures, starring Ajay Devgn and southern star Tamannaah, has seen a substantial dip in collections on Day 4.

On Monday, the collections of ‘Himmatwala’ expectedly dipped, to a low Rs 41.5 million (Rs 4.15 crore) net. The negative word of mouth has caught up with the film.

As reported, ‘Himmatwala’ opened on 29 March, with decent collections of Rs 118.2 million (Rs 11.82 crore net) on Friday, Day 1. Saturday saw the collections plummet to Rs 83.5 million (Rs 8.35 crore) net, post the bad reviews garnered by the film.

On Day 3, Sunday the film saw a very mild up swing, bringing the three day total up to a dismal Rs 292.7 million (Rs 29.27 crore) net.

What remains to be seen whether Sajid Khan’s brainless comedy will be able to sustain and pick up the pace over the week, after being slammed by critics and audiences alike.
