MUMBAI: As reported by businessofcinema.com, Shirish Kunder’s JOKER starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha opened to empty halls.

An average 15% occupancy was registered, while few shows at multiplexes in metros were cancelled as enough tickets were not sold.

The low fare continued even in the evening shows, at both single-screens and multiplexes.

Shirish Kunder’s JOKER has collected in the range of Rs 50 million (5 crore) net on it’s opening day. Thus making it Akshay Kumar’s lowest opener in years.

The slow trend of JOKER has continued so far on Saturday with not a big rise in collections. For now the future of JOKER looks very dull at the Box Office.
