MUMBAI: The Hrithik Roshan starrer Kites has so far done net business of Rs 342.60 million (Rs 34.26 crore) in India (Friday – Monday including paid previews). The movie crashed at the box office on Monday with the movie garnering Rs 37.50 million (Rs 3.75 crore) in net collections across India.
As was reported earlier by Businessofcinema.com, Kites did a net business of Rs 104 million (Rs 10.40 crore) on Friday, followed by Rs 86 million (Rs 8.60 crore) on Saturday. The paid previews of the movie brought in net collections of Rs 17.60 million (Rs 1.76 crore).
On Sunday, the movie picked pace at some places and saw total net collections of Rs 97.50 million (Rs 9.75 crore). The opening weekend collections of Kites stood at Rs 305 million (Rs 30.50 crore).
Kites, which has been directed by Anurag Basu, is produced by Rakesh Roshan’s FilmKraft Productions and distributed worldwide by Reliance BIG Pictures. The international version of the film – Kites – The Remix, which has been edited by Brett Ratner (Rush Hour), will release worldwide on 28 May.
