MUMBAI: John Abraham-starrer ‘Madras Cafe’, directed by Shoojit Sircar and produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures, is going steady at the box office, in its opening weekend.
Also starring Nargis Fakhri, the espionage thriller film, based on political events in Sri Lanka, has seen decent returns at the ticketing windows. As reported, ‘Madras Cafe’ managed to garner a decent opening at Rs 49.7 million (Rs 4.97 crore) net, on Friday, 23 August.
Since then, the film picked up, generating revenues of approximately Rs 68.5 million (Rs 6.85 crore) net on Day 2 (Saturday) and Rs 85.1 million (Rs 8.51 crore) net on Day 3 (Sunday).
The 3-day total stands in the range of a respectable Rs 203.3 million (Rs 20.33 crore) net.
