The way the Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer film PK is going, it seems it will not take too much time to reach the 200 crore mark this week.
The records are likely to be broken for sometime yet and may possibly be on for the highest gross ever though the next few days will tell more.
PK has had great reviews. There has been tremendous positive word of mouth post the release.
It has garnered a lot of appreciation not just for its story but also for its brilliant performances.
The film has broken records not only on Friday and Saturday, but also Sunday.
The film grossed Rs 26 crore nett(260 million) on its first day with some places doing excellent business while other places were good to average, and did better on second day by earning Rs 29.50 crore (Rs 290.5 million) nett, and did even better on Sunday grossing Rs 37 crore (Rs 370 million) nett.
On Monday there was a dip touching 20.5 crore(205 million) nett, Tuesday also fell a little lower touching 18.75 crore nett (187 million), but on Wednesday, PK showed a little growth touching 19.5 crore (195 million) nett due to a national holiday.
So uptil now, PK has crossed 150 crore nett in India. Today being Christmas and the weekend to go, the way the film is going it may well go past the 200 crore nett mark this weekend.
PK is believed to be one of Rajkumar Hirani‘s best films and Aamir Khan‘s best performance.
The film has received a thumbs up from the audiences and people from the industry. Even across the globe people have loved it and is off to an excellent start.
