BOX OFFICE: ‘Man of Steel’ Overtakes New Bollywood Releases

‘Man of Steel’, which is the latest installment in the Superman franchise, directed by Zack Snyder, produced by Warner Bros Pictures and Christopher Nolan, and starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner and Russell Crowe, has overtaken the other Bollywood releases this week.

MUMBAI: ‘Man of Steel’, which is the latest installment in the Superman franchise, directed by Zack Snyder, produced by Warner Bros Pictures and Christopher Nolan, and starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner and Russell Crowe, has overtaken the other Bollywood releases this week.

As reported, the film managed to pick up despite facing technical glitches in the morning shows (SEE REPORT). In its opening weekend, the Superman sequel managed to rake in an impressive Rs 210 million (Rs 21 crore) net.

The movie was given a wide release in 800 screens nationwide and was dubbed in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

“We’re thrilled at the tremendous response we’ve seen from audiences across India to Zack Snyder’s exciting new vision of the iconic Super Hero. Despite unconducive weather conditions in several parts of the country and an ‘Indo-Pak’ cricket match over the weekend, the movie has got on to a flying start in the country, ” said Warner Bros. Pictures India Md, Denzil Dias.
