MUMBAI: Raajneeti is standing tall at the box office. While the movie’s opening weekend net collections were Rs 340 million (Rs 34 crore), Monday saw the movie holding strong with net collections of approximately Rs 62.50 million (Rs 6.25 crore). This takes the four days total net of the movie to Rs 402.50 million (Rs 40.25 crore).
As was earlier reported by Businessofcinema.com, Housefull’s net collections on the first Monday were Rs 50 million (Rs 5 crore), whereas Kites dropped at the box office on its first Monday with net collections of Rs 37.50 million (Rs 3.75 crore). On the other hand, last year’s blockbuster movie 3 Idiots did net collections of approximately Rs 115 million (Rs 11.50 crore) on its first Monday.
OVERSEAS COLLECTIONS
Raajneeti has received a good response at the overseas box office too. In UK, the movie did business of $315,048, in the US the collections stand at $916,446 and in the UAE the movie took in $500,000. On the other hand, Australia saw collections of $175,778, with $342,719 coming from Rest Of The World (ROW). Raajneeti’s total collections from the overseas market stand at $2.25 million.
