Monday has been a slower day for business, with ‘Race 2’ managing to scrape a mere Rs 68 million (6.8 crore) net. Day 5 Tuesday, earned in the range of Rs 62 million (Rs 6.2 crore) net. Nonetheless, it’s been a good run at the box office for the stylised action flick, despite the negative reviews by many. The five day total of ‘Race 2’ stands at Rs 636 million (63.6 crore) net.

This weekend, two Hollywood films are set to hit the marquee: the first being Salman Rushdie’s Booker Prize winning novel ‘Midnight’s Children’ on-screen adaptation by Indo-Canadian director Deepa Mehta; and the latter being Paramount Pictures’ ‘Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters’ directed by Tommy Wirkola, which stars Hollywood stars Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton. Both these films may give a notable competition to ‘Race 2’, along with Bejoy Nambiar’s ‘David’, which also releases this Friday.
