MUMBAI: Viacom 18′s ‘Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns’, directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, starring Jimmy Shergill, Mahie Gill, Irrfan Khan and Soha Ali Khan, has seen a pick up since opening day, at the box office.

As reported, ‘Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns’ opened to moderate collections of about Rs 34.2 million (Rs 3.42 crore) net on Friday, opening day. With an approximate average occupancy of 25-30%, ‘Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns’ did a majority business in the circles of Delhi, Mumbai, Punjab and Rajasthan.

On Saturday, the film picked up, garnering an average collection in the range of Rs 41.5 million (Rs 4.15 crore) net; while Sunday saw the highest collections for ‘Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns’ so far, with a business of approximately Rs 45.8 million (Rs 4.58 crore) net.

The three day total of ‘Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns’ stands in the respectable range of Rs 121.5 million (Rs 12.15 crore) net, which is a decent enough figure, considering the film released in peak exam season.

However, compared to the first installment from the ‘Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster’ franchise, which had seen an incredible opening day business of about Rs 75 million (Rs 7.5 crore) net on its first day, this is much lower.

The sequel, ‘Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns’ seems to have begun on a slow start, but with good reviews and word-of-mouth, the film looks poised to pick up the pace in its coming week.
