The Dabangg Khan Salman has surely given another blockbuster hit with his presence. Directed by Sooraj Barjatya the movie was already expected to cross records. The family entertainer ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ created a lot of buzz and garnered large number of crowds at the theaters. The movie also took an amazing advantage of the holidays falling in line with the release date of the film.
The first week collection of the film was enormous and surpassed the expected records with a collection of Rs. 160 crores net approx. (1.60 billion). The film has nonetheless created a record and is on the fifth position in the list of highest first week collections.
The film ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ has finally reached the eighth day of its release. After a tremendous and a herculean start, the collections of the blockbuster film saw a steep drop on the eighth day. The film managed to collect Rs.3.75 crore net approx. (37.5 Millions). After the great start it seems like the collections are a slowly experiencing a bad time. The back to back holidays proved to be beneficial for the film but the same scenario isn’t expected now.
Moreover, after the first week many critics also shared their negative views about the film which might have affected the movie goers. All in all, Salman Khan’s ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ is already tagged as a record breaker and is expected to do above average business even now. It is observed that the collections in Mumbai and Gujarat have seen a considerable drop.
Now whether the collections in the said areas and others pick up in the coming weekend or no is yet to be seen.
