MUMBAI: Ayan Mukherjee’s second directorial venture, ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin witnessed a super Saturday in terms of box office collections.
‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions surpassed the opening day’s bumper collections on Day 2, Saturday, grossing Rs 202.3 million (Rs 20.23 crore) net.
As reported, the film opened on 31 May with a huge 95% to 100% occupancy, managing to secure a roaring business in the range of Rs 197.5 million (Rs 19.75 crore) net.
Audiences have seemed to love the light-hearted rom com, and given it a resounding round of applause going by the box office figures in the opening weekend. With such fabulous response, ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ is touted to enter the coveted Rs 100 crore club fairly quickly.
