MUMBAI: They say word-of-mouth can make or break a film. The latter seems to be true in the case of ‘Zanjeer’, which has not being doing well since its release on 6 September, 2013.
A remake of the 1973 original, ‘Zanjeer’ stars Priyanka Chopra and Ram Charan in lead roles, along with Sanjay Dutt. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia and produced by Reliance Entertainment and Prakash Mehra Productions, the film has not curried favour with audiences.
As reported, on Day 1, ‘Zanjeer’ managed a lackluster business of a mere Rs 31 million (Rs 3.10 crore net)
Day 2 was equally disheartening, with figures in the range of Rs 27.5 million (Rs 2.75 crore) net, while Day 3 stood at Rs 33.7 million (Rs 3.37 crore) net.
The three day total stands at Rs 92.2 million (Rs 9.22 crore) net.
