MUMBAI: Remake of the original 1973 superhit film ‘Zanjeer’, which starred Amitabh Bachchan, by director Apoorva Lakhia, has failed to set the box office on fire.
The new version, Starring Priyanka Chopra and South star Ram Charan in lead roles, along with Sanjay Dutt and Prakash Raj, has failed to win over audiences on Day 1. ‘Zanjeer’ managed to garner a mere Rs 31 million (Rs 3.10 crore net) on opening day.
The reviews too don;t seem to be doing the film many favours, and it seems unlikely that the film will sustain its first week even.
