Anubhav Sinha’s Zid, directed by Vivek Agnihotri, has performed below average. Debutants Karanvir Sharma, Mannara and Shraddha Das tried their best to get as erotic to get the audience, but have seen low occupancies. The movie has managed to collect Rs 3 crore (30 million) in the first weekend, showing a below average business.
Released on November 28, 2014, alongside Ungli, Zid received negative reviews from the critics, and failed to impress the audience even. The new actors with the weak storyline and more of sensualism, the movie does not seem to work at the multiplexes and may have lesser audience at the single screen as well, because of Ajay Devgn’s action drama, Action Jackson releasing this week.
However, the movie successfully contributes to the list of shockers in the month of November, joining The Shaukeens, Kill Dil, Happy Ending and Ungli.
