Sony Pictures Entertainment has appointed Louise Chater as the Vice President of International Strategy & Research. She will be overseeing the international theatrical market research efforts for the company and will be reporting directly to international marketing chief Michael Horn. The appointment was made by Josh Greenstein who was recently appointed as president of worldwide marketing and distribution by Sony Pictures Entertainment.
As the company is pushing forward its reach globally, the post filled by Louise holds a lot of importance to help the studio advance in its international market. Louise Chater has previously worked in Clarius Entertainment for two years where she used to oversee the company’s strategy, acquisitions and slate development. Before that Chater worked at Walt Disney Motion Picture where she led the global research division.
During her time at Disney, Louise Chater has overseen worldwide research of films like Cars 2, The Muppets, The Help, The Avengers and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Before joining Disney, she was the CEO of First Movies International which was a consultancy company that gave domestic and international research and strategy assistance to major as well as independent studios in UK and Europe for over a decade.

President of Worldwide Marketing and Distribution of Sony Pictures Entertainment, Josh Greenstein stated in an interview that Louise has an incredible amount of knowledge and experience in the international marketplace. He further added that her strategic global view will be a key asset in helping the company customize its campaigns throughout the world.
Sony Pictures Entertainment has many Hollywood films lined up for the next couple of years including Freaks of Nature, Spectre, The Night Before, The Lady in the Van, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, The Angry Birds Movie, Inferno and Resident Evil: The Final Chapter among others.
