Virgin Produced India have joined hands with actor Anil Kapoor and his producer daughter Rhea Kapoor to coproduce their first Bollywood venture. Virgin Produced India is a partnership between Sir Richard Branson’s L.A. based Virgin Produced and India’s Cinema Capital Venture Fund. Reportedly the untitled film is a coming-of-age story set to be shot in America. The film will be produced under Anil Kapoor’s banner, Anil Kapoor Films and will mark Karan Boolani’s directorial debut.
Anil Kapoor who has established his name in the Hollywood industry with films like Slumdog Millionaire, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and his recent Indian adaptation of Fox’s series 24 is thrilled about his production company’s association with Virgin Produced India. The actor stated, “With the film, we look forward to taking Virgin Produced’s unique and successful business model, expanding it here in Bollywood and building a significant partnership that will cater to the youth through a film that will truly be on par with global standards.”

Virgin Produced India partner Jas Mann added that they are delighted to join forces with Anil and Rhea on the film and look forward to a long and productive relationship. Mann further spoke few words of appreciation about Kapoor and his daughter stating they are as passionate and dedicated to filmmaking as his company members. The untitled venture will be based on the life of four teenage freshmen year students studying at an American University. Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours fame Oscar-winning music composer A.R. Rahman has also been roped in for the project.
Virgin Produced have given films like Limitless starring Bradley Cooper, Machine Gun Preacher, Immortals, Movie 43, 21 and Over, That Awkward Moment and Steve Job’s biopic Job starring Ashton Kutcher. It will be interesting to see what Anil Kapoor‘s film banner presents along with Virgin Produced India
