British-Indian actor Dev Patel is in Ujjain for the shoot of his next Hollywood film Lion. The Slumdog Millionaire actor will be starred opposite Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman.
According to earlier reports, the shooting for the film had already started in Kolkata during mid January. After which now Dev Patel will be shooting in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. The actor has already shot some important scenes in the city, and will be shooting at Omkareshwar railway station over the next two weeks.
The movie is The Weinstein Company’s adaptation of an incredible survival tale based on the novel “A Long Way Home,” by Saroo Brierley. The film is based on Brierley’s life who, was thrown into poverty after his father abandoned his mother and his elder brothers. Soon after which they started begging on railway station for food and money, during which Brierley was separated from his family at the age of five.
The story is thus about a young boy who is rescued by an Australian family and gets reunited with his family after a span of around 3 decades. Australian actress Nicole Kidman will not be arriving in India for the shoot but will commence her shooting in Australia itself.
Bollywood actors Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Priyanka Bose, Tannishtha Chatterjee and Deepti Naval will also be starring in the film. Directed by Garth Davis, Lion is produced by See-Saw Films in association with Sunstar Entertainment and Aquarius Films.
