Hollywood actor Richard Gere who was recently in news of his divorce hearings with her wife visits India for shooting his upcoming movie.

Richard is in India since one month for his shooting of The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. The shooting took place in Rajasthan. After the shooting, Richard Gere went to New Delhi today and met Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

On his visit, Richard Gere greeted PM Modi with a bunch of flowers and a Tibetan scarf.

The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is a sequel of the 2011 British comedy-drama. The sequel also stars Hollywood actors Judi Dench, Dev Patel and Maggie Smith, Bill Nighy and Tena Desae.

Gere is also the chairman of Gere Foundation and Global Envoy of International Buddhist Confederation. While the famous Buddhist is normally known for his upholding of the religious principals of calm and non-violence.

Richard has also been in the controversies before, when he kissed Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty on the stage of an event that created a lot of criticism.

In October 2014, Richard Gere got separated from his wife Carey Lowell. The couple were married for 12 years and shares a 13-year-old son named Homer.

Since their separation, Richard has been romantically linked to Indian born American author Padma Lakshmi, however, they recently broke up.

His visit to India again and again shows how much he loves India. However, the reason behind their meeting is as yet undisclosed.
